Whelan Pest Prevention offers a proactive rather than reactive service, and will always advise and assist to help you to comply with the law. Especially when it comes to premises connected to food 

The Food and Safety Act 1990 and regulations 1995 state that any premises connected to food must employ adequate pest control measures.

Environmental Health Inspectors have the power to suspend your services if pests are present and you could also be fined.

Most food premises have a pest control contract for the following reasons:

• Complying with the law
• Protecting your staff and customers from disease, such as salmonella
• To reduce the likelihood of loss of custom: gossip about pests spreads quickly!
• Protecting your building from damage, such as fire from gnawing
• Reducing the loss of stock due to contamination, such as mouse urine

If you choose to have a contract Whelan Pest Prevention will visit your premises regularly, usually eight times per year. Whelan Pest Prevention will check for pests and administer treatment accordingly; insect traps and detector baits will be located to provide an early warning system against infestation. Whelan Pest Prevention aim to spot the problem and deal with it before you even realise there are pests. According to the contract, free emergency visits will be included in case of pest occurrences between Whelan Pest Prevention routine visits.

A comprehensive report folder will be left at each of your sites for you to check our services and show to the environmental health officer. Written reports, risk assessments and COSHH details will appear in the folder. Written advice and recommendations will also be offered to help you maintain a safe and pest free environment.

Free quality assurance audits by the technician's technical inspector will maintain the highest standards possible.
